2025 President's Award

Michael Lambert

Michael Lambert, a native of Buffalo, NY, earned his BA in Dance and Visual Communication from the University at Buffalo. After graduation, Michael pursued his passion for performing, traveling the world and building an extensive career in the entertainment industry.

His performance credits include renowned venues such as Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Seas, Walt Disney World, and cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Princess. Michael was honored to contribute as a swimmer/dancer for the research and development team of Franco Dragone’s Le Reve at Wynn Las Vegas, a role that led him to perform with Olympic gold medal-winning synchronized swimmers in the Azure Underwater Shows at the Silverton Casino in Las Vegas. He was also invited to perform at the John F. Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage Series and the Jazz Dance World Congress. Michael’s other engagements include special projects for Busch Gardens, Fisher Price, Disney, and multiple Las Vegas performances. He was even selected as the model for the male dancer icons at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in Orlando, FL.

After returning to Buffalo, Michael transitioned to a career in dance education. He joined the faculty at Walh Performing Arts Studios and shortly after began teaching at Buffalo State University. Additionally, Michael served as a part-time faculty member in the Theatre & Dance Department at the State University of New York at Buffalo for five years. As a dedicated member of Dance Masters of America (DMA), he serves on the National Education Committee (Jazz Chairman), is a core faculty member of the Teachers Training School (Jazz Dance), and also teaches ballet at the Student Honors Intensive Program (SHIP).  Michael also created DMA’s online teacher certification review videos, helping to prepare teachers for their teacher certification exams in jazz and modern dance.

Michael had the honor of serving as the National Director of DMA’s Miss/Mr. Dance of America Scholarship Competition, Petite/Master Dance of America Scholarship Competition, as well as the Chairman of DMA’s College Outreach Program and College Forum. He also served on the board of directors for DMA’s affiliate Chapter #8 in Western New York, where he founded and directed the Chapter’s Jr. Membership program in 2014.
